We love nothing more than making timber floors look new again, especially NZ native timbers. To do the job well, there is quite a bit involved and because we’re so meticulous about getting the right finish, we follow a proven sanding and coating process. We’ll start with an in-home consultation, which includes detailed measurements. Here we’ll capture your desired look and preferred products.

Once the job gets underway, we’ll begin by removing the existing floor covering or coating (like carpet or vinyl) and completing any repairs.

Then we start the sanding process, beginning with coarse sandpaper and moving onto fine sandpaper, for that smooth, polished finish. This prepares the floor for finishing where the sanded floor is stained or coated with your choice of finishing product. The end result is hardwearing, long-lasting wood floors that look stunning.

Floor Staining

Getting the right finish for your timber floors is important, and we want to ensure you get precisely what you’re after. We offer four different types of finishing options to suit your desired look and finish. All of our finishes are durable and suit most timber types. We offer:

1- Moisture-cured polyurethane
Moisture-cured polyurethane is a hardwearing, durable finish that’s great for homes with children.

2- Water-based polyurethane
Water-based polyurethane results in a lighter colour that’s good for the environment and family – although it won’t work on imported timber.

3 - Oiling
Oiling gives a subtle, matt, natural finish. Hardwearing, it’s good for dogs and stilettos!

4- Staining
Staining changes the colour of wood, and you can achieve some stunning effects this way. We can help you choose the best finish for your desired look and feel.
